Why we built Waywalks

In a world of constant distraction, we create spaces for attention. Walking is the original way humans processed life—and we think it still works.

Our story

Waywalks began with a simple observation: walking is one of the most powerful tools we have for thinking, healing, and creating—but we often rush through it, earbuds in, mind elsewhere.

What if technology could help us be more present, rather than more distracted? What if a walk could be not just exercise, but an experience that leaves you genuinely changed?

We started designing walks that matter. Routes chosen for their beauty and accessibility. Prompts written to meet you where you are—whether seeking calm, clarity, connection, or adventure.

Today, Waywalks offers curated walking experiences across the UK, each one designed to help you notice more, think deeper, and return to daily life a little more present.

What we believe

Presence Over Performance

Waywalks isn't about achieving miles or beating times. It's about being fully here, noticing what you'd otherwise miss, and returning to yourself.

Nature as Teacher

The natural world has lessons to offer if we slow down to receive them. Our prompts help you enter into dialogue with landscape, weather, and wildlife.

Thoughtful Design

Every waypoint, every prompt, every feature is designed with intention. We believe the best technology helps us be more human, not less.

Walks for Everyone

Whether you're seeking solitude or bringing the family, processing something difficult or celebrating something wonderful, there's a walk for that.

How Waywalks works

1

Choose your walk

Browse our curated collection of walks. Filter by location, duration, difficulty, or what you're seeking—stress relief, family adventure, deep reflection, or simple beauty.

2

Walk with intention

As you walk, your phone gently guides you with audio prompts at key waypoints. These aren't directions—they're invitations to notice, reflect, and engage with your surroundings.

3

Capture what matters

Take photos, jot notes, or simply mark moments of significance. When you finish, you receive your personal Waywalk Map—a beautiful summary of your journey and what you discovered.
